Our inspiration?
It's everywhere
we look.

The natural world

While we regularly work with aged and precious metals, man-made glass and glorious ceramics, our primary material is wood. And trees provide us with an embarrassment of riches.

Different strengths...and weaknesses. Different grains. Different colours. Different smells. Different possibilities. Different challenges.

But it’s not until we’re face-to-face with one of nature’s most magnificent creations that we can actually decide how best to carve out a fitting tribute to its inherent beauty.

Just two conditions. We will only work with timber from entirely sustainable sources, or with storm-felled trees that can live again through our loving care and craftmanship.

The wellbeing power of nature

We may think of nature as part of our ‘outdoor’ world. But there’s growing evidence that bringing nature inside, into our living and socialising spaces, has a genuinely positive health benefit.

Building on the concepts pioneered by Japanese forest therapy, introducing nature to our interior surroundings can do everything from lifting our moods to better regulating everyday stress and emotions.

All the more reason why the character and intricacies of timber play such an important part when we’re exploring the visual and tactile effects they can have on our wellbeing.
